Malé, is the capital and most populous city of the Maldives. With a population of 252,768 and an area of 8.30 square kilometers (3.20 sq mi), it is also one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The city is geographically located on the southern edge of North Malé Atoll.
However, within a 15-minute walking radius from the jetty, you will be able to see the most interesting places such as the Fish Market and Local Market, Hukuru Miskiy (one of the oldest mosques in Maldives), and Muliaage (The President's Palace). Additionally, you will find several local attractions, souvenir shops, and local stores.
Dress Code:
The Maldives is a Muslim country so you are advised to wear conservative clothing when visiting the Male' City or Local Islands. If you plan to visit a mosque or religious site, in particular, you must wear clothes that cover your knees and shoulders, and women may be required to cover their heads.
